Friday 20th August
Kia ora e te whanau!

What a surprise to have been plunged back into Alert Level 4 with so little warning!

Our staff have been working hard to set up systems to get students connected with learning programmes, but it hasn't been as easy this time because of the lack of preparation time before the lockdown began.

As of Thursday afternoon, our staff were allowed on to the school site under very strict conditions with the sole purpose of preparing resources for our learners. These resources can be distributed to family homes by our staff from 11 am on Friday. No access to the school site has been granted to students, parents or caregivers.

If your child has items prepared for them by their teachers, or devices you have requested via the survey, they will be delivered to your homes. If you do not receive any items, your child's learning programme is online. Contact your child's teacher(s) if you are not sure how to access this work, or email [email protected] if you require any other assistance.

If we remain at Alert Level 4 past Friday, further information regarding online programmes will be distributed by teachers. If we transition to Alert Level 3, students continue to work from home unless they are not able to be supervised due to essential worker requirements. If your child would need to return to school in Alert Level 3, we will need to prepare for this. Please fill out the survey later in this communication. If we do move to Alert Level 3 or below in the near future we are required to clean the school fully before re-entry. Please prepare for an initial delay in return to full service.

The school has participated in an ordering process for hard-pack resources as a backup if required. We are yet to hear from the MoE regarding the distribution of these packs if they are required.

Above all, I hope you all remain well and safe. Look after yourselves and your people. If you need additional support, an article later in this communication outlines some services available to you. If support is required from school, please email [email protected].
